Swayambhunath

Swayambhunath has a long enchanting history. Legends says that Manjusiri while traveling here spotted a lake, then he spotted a light and then he cut the gorge and the water was drained for worshiping and praying the lotus.

We can also get Buddha paintings over here. The Kathmandu valley can be seen from here. Buddha statues and animals like monkeys can be found here at Swayambhunath. People who love monkeys can get glimpses of this magnificent animals here at Swayambhunath. Swayambhunath has also been listed at UNESCO world heritage site.
