Changunarayan

Changunarayan Temple is an ancient Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu with intricate wood carvings and stone sculptures. The temple is located on a hilltop of a beautiful village. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and was constructed in the 4th century by the Licchavis. The Changunarayn temple features the unique architecture of the Newari Community built with wood and stones. The stone carvings in the temple represent Lord Vishnu along with scenes from Ramayan and Mahabharat.

This temple is considered one of the most important sites for pilgrimage among the Hindu Community. Devotees come here to pay homage to Lord Vishnu.
